A fundamental movement focusing on the controlled strengthening of the quadriceps muscles. Ideal for beginners to learn technique and build foundational strength.
Sit on the machine and adjust the backrest so that the back of your knees are at the edge of the seat.
Place the ankle pad on top of your shins, just above the ankles. Select a light to moderate weight.
Exhale and extend your legs until they are straight in a controlled manner. Squeeze your quadriceps at the top of the movement for a moment.
Inhale and slowly lower the weight back to the starting position with control.
