By placing your feet higher on the platform, you shift the emphasis of the load from the quadriceps to the glutes and hamstrings. This is an excellent movement for shaping and strengthening the posterior chain.
Sit in the machine and place your feet on the upper portion of the platform, slightly wider than your shoulders. Ensure your heels are firmly on the platform.
Release the safety locks. Inhale and slowly lower the sled as far as your mobility allows, keeping your lower back pressed into the seat.
Feel the stretch in your glutes and hamstrings at the bottom position.
Exhale and push powerfully through your heels back to the starting position, squeezing your glutes at the top.
