This variation puts more emphasis on the lower and inner parts of the back, as well as the biceps. The closer grip allows for a greater range of motion.
Attach a V-bar or use the machine's close neutral grips. Sit down and secure the knee pads.
Grasp the handles with your palms facing each other. Lean back slightly, keeping your back straight.
Pull the handles down towards the lower part of your sternum. Focus on driving your elbows down and squeezing your back muscles hard.
Hold the contraction for a moment, then slowly return the handles to the top until your arms are fully extended. Do not let the weight stack slam.
