This exercise is specifically designed to isolate and strengthen the calf muscles. Use a lighter weight and focus on a full range of motion.
Sit in the machine and place the balls of your feet on the bottom edge of the platform, with your heels hanging off.
Straighten your legs almost completely, then release the safety catches.
Slowly lower your heels as far as possible, feeling a stretch in your calves.
Push the weight up by pressing through the balls of your feet as high as you can, squeezing your calves hard at the top.
Pause briefly at the top before slowly lowering your heels again.
